This system has two main components: the door alarm and a wristband transmitter. The wristband goes on the patient’s wrist, and the door alarm goes next to the door. Included with the system is a wireless pager for the caregiver. When the person wearing the wristband transmitter walks near or through the doorway, the door bar will flash a light and sound an alarm, which in turn sends a signal to the caregiver’s pager. This anti-wandering alert is the perfect system to help caregivers keep Alzheimer’s and dementia patients safe!

The DepartAlert™ Anti-Wandering Door Bar unit is easy to install. First, mount the door alarm with the double-sided adhesives provided on a non-metal surface next to crucial doorways or exits in your home. Next, plug the unit into an AC outlet, and place the wristband transmitter on the patient. Finally, connect the system to the wireless pager, and it’s ready.
